More Halloween Things

So here are a few more halloween related paitings I've made last october

A poor little Jack-o-lantern whose candle fell off inside his head

Halloween illustrations

Hello! Here's some Halloween inspired illustrations I've made recently.

We start off with a cute little zombie...

Followed by Pumpkinmon, from Digimon

And we end this on my entry for the Cubebrush monthly challenge: The Lord of the carrot zombies

Happy Halloween everyone!

Painting Warmups

So here's some warmups I've made yesterday:

And I got a bit carried away by those two and I tried some new painting/rendering technique:

Northern Sorcerer

Here's an illustration I've for Cubebrush's august monthly challenge. I think that it was my first winter scene illustration.

And here are some closeups

Painting Studies

Here are some studies I've made recently. The first two were made in Photoshop while the last one was made with acrylic paints.

White Glint

Here's the artwork I've made for Cubebrush's weekly challenge a few weeks ago. We had to make a human version of Armored Core's White-Glint.

Viviane Vivace-Character Sheet

Here's a character concept sheet for a project I am working on. The character's name is Viviane Vivace. I'll share more details in the future.

Beer-drinking Lord concept

My piece for this week's art challenge on Cubebrush. The brief was to make a character for a medieval MMO game and there were quite a few elements that we had to respect like no shading.

Description: This man transports his beer on a barrel in his back. That barrel is connected to his armor in such a way that he can use the taps on his chest to fill his metal mug when he wants. This mug is also his weapon. He uses it either as a big hammer or as a brass knuckles.

The All-Seeing One Sketch

Here's a creature sketch for the world I am currently building. This is her humanoid form and she will also have a monster form.

Viviane Vivace's Tattoo

This is a picture of a character I’ve created for a story that I’m starting to develop. I’ve posted my first drawing of her sometime earlier this year. The tattoo that she is displaying here is a magical tattoo that she usually keeps hidden. She only reveals it when she is in a dire situation.

Sketchy sketches

Hi, it's been quite some time since I haven't uploaded anything. So here are some rough sketches I've did yesterday.

Game menu progress and a platypus

Here is the progress of the background for the game menu I've posted in my last blog entry.

I still have a lot of work to do, but I think it's comming along nicely.

And now for something random: Here's a platypus!

Game menu and some more work in progress

Here is a game menu for a fictional game . It was all made in Adobe Illustrator (it had been a while since I hadn't used it). I actually have some more ideas of menus in mind, so there will be more to come in the future.

The background is only temporary, as I'm planning to make a cool illustration for it.

And here is the progress of the cave painting I posted last time.

I've changed the view point to be more in front of the cave's entrance. The rest is pretty similar. In fact, the rocks on the left are the same. I also modified the color palet. I felt that it was to dull before.

Surprise on the vine and some work in progress

Here's a quick little painting I've made as a gift to my mom for mother's day:

Acrylic on watercolor paper

And here's another digital illustration in the making:

Collision Course: Final

And here is the final version of the illustration I started in the last post:

It had been a while since I had not touch my acrylic paints, so I'm very pleased with how this image turned out. And as usual, I have some closeups for you:

Collision Course: The progress so far

Here are some images of the progress of my new illustration.

First of all, I tried different colors for the big sea monster. This step was made in photoshop:

Then I printed my pen drawing in a bigger size, and transfered it on watercolor paper. This was followed by the underpainting made with Burnt Umber acrylic paint:

As you can see I've added two little friends to the little penguin for additionnal storytelling elements.

And fast forward a little bit, here's where I am right now:

And now, back to work!

Curiosity

Here's a drawing for which I just had a vague idea of what I wanted to do. It was fun to just explore different ideas for the characters, however it also involved a lot of erasing, which doesn't make for a very clean drawing. Also, I really didn't succeed with the guy's pose. I'll probably color it sometime in the future.

The Star Inker

She flies in the sky at night, drawing stars with her magic feathers.

The idea of this character came from an idea I had a while ago, but up until now she only lived as a rough sketch in my sketchbook. Unfortunately, I kind of failed her right arm. It doesn't look right to me and I can't seem to be able to correct it. Oh well, things like that happens sometimes.

Futuristic Swordswoman

Going back to traditional drawing made me realise how much I started to depend on Photoshop warp/transform tools to make my artwork. I think that the result is not quite right, but I do like the overall design:
